Reply with quote | #1 | So me, Kale, Mary, and a few more people after the Bon Odori festival went to a Karaoke place closeby and we had such a blast making a fool of ourselves singing Anime music. I totally want to do this again. I want to create a meetup for all of us to hangout and karaoke the hell out of that place. So, who wants to do it? Here's some details about the place.
Location: Ding Dong Dang Karaoke Bar 224 E Golf Rd. (between Arlington Heights Rd & Goebbert Rd) Arlington Heights, IL 60005
Cost: About $45-$60 per hour/per group (not per person)
Date: September 12th
Meeting Time: Be at location at 6pm.
Room Sizes: Biggest room one holds up to 25 people. Mid-size is 15. Small is 10.
Music Selection: English and Japanese (It has Anime songs too).
Ages: All Ages, no restriction.
Hours: 2am it closes?
Here's a couple things you need to know before coming to the meetup: 1.) Drinks are not allowed in the building. The store owners do not permit that, though they do have soda/water/frappcinos that you can buy from them.
2.) Please do not bring any restaurant related food. Snacks or bag of chips is acceptable, but keep them into a bare minimal.
3.) If you bring in food or drinks, it's you're responsibility to throw them out. I don't not want the store owners to think we are a messy group. So clean up anything that needs to be thrown away.
4.) This is not a cosplay meetup. We'll be inside of the room mostly and probably butchering alot of the songs.
5.) The karaoke room will indeed get hot and probably smelly since there's gonna be quite a number of us inside. Feel free to step out to get some air or water.
6.) Always keep the karaoke room doors closed. I know its bad circulation, but we are not allowed to have it open since karaoke rooms are very noisy.
7.) We are paying after we finish the room, but I believe this will be easier if I collect the money first before entering the place. Credit Card/Debit Card holders need to stay until the end. If you need to leave early and need to pay by card, you're ending up owing someone and it's not going to be me.
8.) Please do not horse around in and outside of the karaoke room. There's expensive equipment here and there's other rooms right next door. We don't want to break anything or disturb the neighboring customers.
9.) There will be a Karaoke line system. Either myself or anyone who's willing to bring a notebook and pen and will write down the person's name, the song number, and what language will it be in. This way we can get in alot more songs in a short period of time. If your song doesn't work on the machine, you can pass your turn until you can find another one to sing. When you find it, you'll be up next right after the current person singing.
10.) Everyone MUST be seated until you're up for singing. If you're not singing, sit down and relax. Don't crowd up towards the screen.
I think that covers a good majority of things to know.
After the Karaoke, we'll possibly go to Dennys or Steak 'n Shake to relax and chill. Or be random and do a little rave party at the parking lot and take out McD's right across the street. __________________ "Everybody's peace, it's all right! It's OK to harmonize with Love & Rock.
